Luke's Letter Dated July 28, 2014

Well here's the weekly news from Argentina land: (:

My companion and I have been working really hard with the investigators that we have. We have been visiting Jessica, the blind woman, a lot and helping her out in her house and all that fun stuff. It's sad, she has 3 kids that live with her, but not one of them will get off the computer to help her out. It's really sad how selfish they are. But we're trying our best to help out all of them! We have been working with our recent converts a lot more lately, and we've found that to be a really effective way to find new people to teach too!

Our new president is changing a lot of the rules now, so the mission is changing a ton. Two of the things I'm really happy about is that we can now drink coke! And I don't have to have a part in my hair anymore, so I can have short hair again!!

I have set a goal to read the New Testement and the Book of Mormon again before I finish my mission. It would be awesome if all of you would set goals to read the Book of Mormon in the next six months too!

I love you all!

Luke's Letter Dated July 21, 2014

Hello everyone!

It's been another great week here in Buenos Aires!

This week we have been workin like crazy! We have been working hard finding people a full!

We were able to meet a blind lady this week! She had listened to the missionaries before she lost her sight. She told us that the only reason she listened to the missionaries was because she thought one of them was cute, she went on to explain that he was tall, had blue eyes, and light brown hair. My companion then explained that I meet that description exactly. haha She was super excited. hahaha. But anyways I'm working on getting a Book Of Mormon in Braile for her. That'll be pretty cool!

Anyways, I hope you have a good week! Don't forget to read your scriptures!

Luke's Letter Dated July 14, 2014

This week started out with a really exciting announcement. We were able to watch the Argentina game on Wednesday, for the semi final!! Pretty much I've never yelled, jumped, shouted, or been so nervous about a soccer game. Argentina won on Wednesday which means that they had to play against Germany on Sunday

We weren't able to watch the game on Sunday because it's the Sabbath and watching soccer doesn't fall into the list of good things to do on the Sabbath. We had to be in our house from 4 in the afternoon until night. We couldn't watch the game, but we heard everything that happened. Sadly Argentina lost. We weren't too happy about that. But at least there wasn't any riots or anything crazy like that.

I got to meet the new mission president this week. He's really really cool. He came to the mission with his wife and 3 of his kids. It's kinda cool to have their whole family in the mission, it's a little like having part of my family here too.

We had all agreed that we were going to ask him about the rule that we can't drink coke in our interviews. When I asked him he pretty much told me that he'll get rid of the rule as soon as he can. haha. It was really cool to see how much love he has for me and all the missionaries. I'm excited for the changes he is going to make and the way he is going to move the mission forward.

I love you all!! I hope you have a good week!!! Read your scriptures!!!

Luke's Letter Dated July 7, 2014

This week was pretty fun, we started out with a zone meeting. But after the zone meeting we filmed a video to present the Zone to the new president. In my part of the video I jumped out of a tree with another elder. It was pretty sweet, but I hurt my ankle a little bit, so I couldn't walk right the rest of the day. But oh well! Later that day I got an awesome pair of new shoes for free!! Gotta love being the only elder with a foot so big!!

On Thursday we had a family night with a less active family. We made tacos and watched a few videos. But that night I felt sicker than a dog... So I slept in a little bit the next day. That morning when we went out to work I wasn't feeling very good and after a door contact I told my companion that I needed to go to the chapel or the house or something. We started walking in that direction and I felt everything I had eaten coming back up.. Not good. So Pretty much I threw up on the side of the street with a bunch of people watching me. That was a new one for me! haha.

On saturday Argentina played another game of soccer in the world cup so we had to be inside our house like all afternoon. Siesta!!! Then that evening we had a baptism! We baptized Blanca an 81 year old lady. I baptized another 81 year old lady back in december who was also named Blanca! Pretty cool!

Anyways, that's my week! Love you all!!
